KLITH-500

Klith-500 contains Clarithromycin 500mg, a macrolide antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It is effective against diseases of the respiratory tract, skin, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) regions.

Indications
Klith-500 is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including:
Lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)
Upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis)
Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., cellulitis, folliculitis, erysipelas)
Ear, nose, and throat infections
In combination with other medicines, for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in peptic ulcer disease.

Mechanism of Action
Clarithromycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth and multiplication of bacteria.

Dosage & Administration
Adults: Typically, 250 mg to 500 mg orally every 12 hours for 7–14 days, depending on the type and severity of infection.
Severe infections: 500 mg twice daily.
Children (over 12 years): Same as adults.
Children (under 12 years): Use oral suspension as directed by a physician.
Important: Always follow your doctor’s instructions and complete the full course of treatment.

Storage
Store at room temperature, in a cool, dry place.
Protect from light and moisture.

Precautions
Not effective against viral infections (e.g., common cold, flu).
